Recognizing 20 Years of Building Networks

The Latin American School of Networks (WALC) honored Juan Carlos Alonso of Lacnic for devoting 15 years to training and mentoring Latin America and Caribbean human resources on Internet related topics.

All these years Alonso has helped the annual WALC workshops train hundreds of experts, many of whom were able to get to know innovative technologies that were later applied in different public and private organizations around the region.

Alonso thanked WALC for recognizing his work and highlighted that these meetings provide a venue where Latin American experts can obtain information and network technologies that are then replicated across the region.

“What is most important is not the years of work but the lessons learned and the willingness of all those involved to continue supporting these training initiatives,” said Alonso.
